New Leaf Foundation Mindfulness Curriculum Toolkit

It Takes a Community to Support Youth

It’s officially spring, and we are officially inspired. Our theme this season is community.

It takes a community to support youth. It takes a community to build a strong organization. And it takes a community to gather the resources to make all of this happen.

Read on about exciting initiatives that are underway!

Supporting communities to do it for themselves.

Our online mindfulness-based curriculum toolkit equips educators and youth workers to care for the wellbeing of themselves and the youth they engage in easy-to-use and creative ways.

As Quad 4 for schools across the province begin this week, we are excited that additional partners are joining us in the pilot phase of our online mindfulness-based curriculum toolkit.

While continuing to work with Toronto District School Board (TDSB) high schools that started using the resource in Quad 3, additional elementary and secondary school sites from TDSB, along with Durham District School board and Dufferin Peel Catholic District School Board, will be coming on board as well. We received some amazing feedback from youth and teachers over the last several weeks and look forward to continuing to expand the reach to more schools.

Last week, we also led our workshop on stress and mindfulness for 40 Pathways to Education staff from across the province. Pathways Regent Park will be the first community organization joining us in the pilot of our curriculum toolkit, offering the 7 units to their students over the remainder of this school year.

None of this would be possible without the generous support of our community.
