Looking Forward to the Year Ahead

As autumn arrives, our team is springing into action to re-establish our school initiatives for another exciting year. We’re kicking off this school year with the goal of growing our programs within TDSB schools and forming a partnership with a new school board.

Our other initiatives in schools will include:

  • Piloting a new curriculum and hybrid program model
  • Offering workshops to students on stress and mindfulness
  • Leading professional development sessions for educators to support student and staff wellbeing
  • Distributing our Mindfulness Toolkit, empowering teachers to incorporate mindfulness into their classrooms
  • Beyond that, we continue to deliver programs at youth justice facilities, Roy McMurtry Youth Centre and Sprucedale Youth Center, and to offer programs in partnership with MLSE Launchpad’s youth leadership initiatives.

Our work is made possible by the incredible support of our community. Join us in making a difference in youth mental health by donating today!

Year in Review

At New Leaf, we’ve accomplished a lot this past year! We worked with 23 program partners and reached approximately 850 youth and over 200 educators and service providers. Our efforts included:

  • reviewing and updating our online training for yoga teachers
  • developing a new 8-week curriculum
  • offering 13 workshops, including one with 120 CYWs at the Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board

Our library of mindfulness resources has also grown. It had over 5,000 plays and 500 downloads just this year!
