Developed in 2020, this DIY resource encapsulated New Leaf Foundation’s expertise in an easy-to-use Mindfulness Toolkit designed to transform classrooms.
At a time when students were stressed and teachers overwhelmed, learning and connection were often challenged. New Leaf Foundation’s specialty was offering mindfulness in a way that was simple, inclusive, and relatable.
Understanding that educators and students didn’t need one more thing added to their plates, we took care of the heavy lifting by providing New Leaf-led practices that were short and sweet — making it easy to integrate mindfulness seamlessly into a typical school day.
The Mindfulness Toolkit included seven lesson plans with bite-sized activities such as:
- Audio and video recordings
- Printable worksheets
- Slide presentations for easy sharing
To engage even the most skeptical students, mindfulness was woven into a variety of activities, including:
- Art and mixed media projects
- Journaling
- Discussion prompts
- Physical exercises

Though New Leaf Foundation has now closed, this toolkit continues to remain available to teachers and classrooms as a testament to our commitment to supporting mental well-being in schools.
