Working with Stress Through Mindfulness
This introductory workshop explores the impact of stress on our brains, bodies, and behaviours and shares the positive impact that mindfulness-based practices can have on the stress cycle.
What's this mindfulness thing everyone’s talking about?
The last two and half years have taken a toll on so many, and young people and the adults that support them are coping with additional layers of stress. Many are looking for supports that address mental, emotional, and physical health but are unsure where to turn.
Join New Leaf Foundation for an introductory workshop discussing the impact of stress on the brains, bodies, and behaviours of ourselves and/or the youth we engage, and learn about the positive impact that mindfulness-based practices can have on the stress cycle.
You'll leave with:
- An understanding of the impact that stress has on the bodies, brains, and behaviors of both yourself and your students
- Clarity about the positive effects that mindfulness-based movement, breath, and awareness practices can have on stress cycles
- Simple, accessible language to promote the usefulness of mindfulness to students and parents when sharing related resources
- Tips for beginning to practice mindfulness
- Access to mindfulness-based resources and recordings for yourself, parents, and students
