Join our Board of Directors

New Leaf Foundation is looking for 4 people to join our Board of Directors. Priority will be given to qualified applicants who reflect the diversity of the communities that we engage.

About Us

New Leaf Foundation is a registered charitable organization addressing the causes and impacts of chronic stress on marginalized youth. We offer programs, education and resources that use mindfulness-based practices to support youth and the adults that surround them, striving to disrupt systems that cause harm. New Leaf programming is offered within schools, youth justice initiatives and in partnership with community-based organizations within the Greater Toronto Area and southern Ontario. We’re committed to trauma-informed and anti-oppression frameworks and operate from a strengths-based perspective to advocate for access, equity and inclusion.

About Board Involvement

  • Providing guidance and expertise in legal and regulatory requirements, as well as board governance
  • Increasing youth leadership to ensure the organization’s work continues to address the challenges, concerns, and needs of marginalized youth through relevant and applicable approaches

As a Board Director, you can expect to participate in a wide range of activities, such as:

  • Regular board meetings (6-8 times per year)
  • Annual meeting of the members (AGM)
  • Chairing and/or sitting on 1-2 committees (meeting once per month)
  • Strategic planning
  • Policy and budgetary review
  • Fundraising initiatives
  • Advising based on your area(s) of expertise
  • Representing the organization at public events as needed
